Polish you crystal balls. Any predictions for national champs
  2. Bob BurnesJuly 23, 2007 @ 06:24 PM
Oh, man. This is going to be a great year for the champs! Hard to tell really. My prediction is this: There's going to be some surprise winners. I think Pat, James, and Tom are going to battle it out and put in some great racing for us in the Jr. cat. This will be a close one, but I think Tom will put this one away. Masters is going to see some awesome racing for sure, but I think Ian "Iceman" Hopkins will pin it all the way and nail that title. With the likes of Dave, Darren, and Si, this race could end with any one of those riders on the top spot if Ian makes any mistakes though. Sr.'s seen some fast paced action this year. I'm going to put Ram bikes' James Wilson on top for Bob's list. He's one rider to watch over the next few seasons. Youth's a tough one. There's some up and comers in there for sure. I'm going to say Bernard Kerr top with Tom Knight and Scott Roberts easy contenders for the title as well. This is one race that nobody can make mistakes on. Elite: This is going to depend on who shows. Oggy's on the injury list. Will Longden is a weapon to be sure of, but will he show for the champs? Mr. Lacey's a powerful rider and is looking better and better over time, but Daniel Yeomans has proven if he wants it, he takes it. I think he might be hungry enough for this one. I'm going with Mr. Yeoman's over the Elite, but the field will be close. I'll be on site with Mt. Dew and Monster Energy for the masses on Champs day. This is going to be great!

The champs split different to normal races, so both senior and elite all race together, will be a big old race and its timed seeding runs and straight knock out as this is a UCI race. So there are plenty of really quick riders in there, the established Beaumont, Longdon, Holmes, Ogden and the new guys all in with a good shot, Atkins Evans, Lacey, Ferris, Taylor, Yeomans, but don't forget the top senior riders they are quick and will be more than happy to take a win from the elites. This will be amazing with the multilines of the Redhill track is one open race for sure...
