Race Postponed until June 2/3rd

16 May 2007

The track is very wet and muddy and rather then risk running event on what would be a very wet weekend we have taken the decision to postpone until June 2/3rd

We want everyone to enjoy themselves at our events and feel that spending the weekend in a very wet muddy field is not going to be fun for anyone, least of all the all spectators and riders.

I know some would of you would love the race in the rain, but with this being a new track we realy want to save it and for it to be an amazing weekend on racing on a realy dry and sunny June 3rd!

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and will transfer or refund any entries already received.

Went to see what the track was like today (Saturday) The track was just startng to dry out but was still soft just before the big step down.

more photos here

We will get rid of this soft sand over the weekend and get the track ready for the race on June 2/3rd.

Long range Weather forcast is for very sunny weekend with highs around 20* so will be worth waiting for to have a realy fast dry track to race on. You can enter on line now.

Think we should all man up and go splash in some puddles!!!! bit of a contradiction there! or is that because i can corner on flats! sensible decision i think in view of weather....... although this is the uk

We had a really wet race at Leamington last year, (the track there has a stone surface which holds up well to the amount of stick it gets when racing on it in the wet.) The race there was fun to begin with but after a whole day of rain, i think everyone was more than ready to go home.

Its bad enough trying to ride on the roads around here with the poor weather, good judgement call on the delay. REALLY high winds due to batter us up here until after the weekend, so probably same on the mainland too.

Tracks ok, It rained all day Sunday, we went up on Monday morning and the track was fine to ride, a couple of puddles and that was it. What ever the weather throws at us this weekend the race will happen.
